I live right near a high school and they are graduating today. There are tons of cars parked up and down our street and I can hear all the commotion from the school, cheering and horns going off and random noises. I remember when I graduated I was so excited! We had the senior breakfast and I went with my friend Anthony and he had this really cool book thing. We passed it around to all of our friends for months and when it was your turn, you would write things in it, anything you wanted. Most treated it like a journal, but there was a cd of a song that described a friend's feelings for someone else, letters to each other etc. I spent some time looking through the book (everyone couldn't wait until it was their turn, or at least I couldn't) and then we went back to school to practice the graduation ceremony. Then I went back later for the actual ceremony. My gown was gold, our school colors were brown and gold (I thought it was pretty gross) and the guys wore the brown ones.
My school was so overcrowded, the girl that sat next to me at graduation, I had never seen before in my life. She was nice though and we kept fixing each other's hats because they kept tipping to the side. For some reason I always had this fear that no one would cheer at my graduation and since most of my friends were juniors I thought this fear might come true. I was happily surprised though! I could hear my mom and sister and uncle all cheering for me in the crowd and I could hear some of the seniors as well! That made my day. Plus by the time they got to my name, everyone was getting really excited because we were almost through so they were making lots of noise anyway.
I had always hated school. Hate hate hated it. So I was ecstatic to be finally finished, even though I still had to go to college. I don't really mind college that much. Of course I would rather be finished and doing something else, but there are always at least a few classes that I enjoy and I really try to learn new things instead of just trying to get through it like in high school.
So on Monday I had jury duty. I'm not even going to talk about it right now because it was so horrible and I feel like I want to keep this post positive so I might talk about it later. All of my plans for Monday and Tuesday were ruined. Anyway, last night me and my husband did manage to go out to dinner and it was nice, and then today I went to the farmer's market with my mom and dad. I got a pluot and was so excited (and hungry) that I ate it in the car. I don't know why I was excited about a pluot, but it was goooood. We decided we would go back Saturday with a little more money. I wanted some artichokes and flowers, there were these awesome flowers and they looked so cheerful that I just really wanted them for some reason. It was sunny out and nice and we were down by the beach and it was a pretty good day so I thought I'd share.
To anyone in high school, they all say that high school is supposed to be the best years of your life so make it true. Take chances, do what you truly want to do, make friends, pay attention and do well but make time to have fun. Find out what it is that inspires you, find out what you love. If I could go back I would change a lot of things and take my own advice. But I guess that's how it always is.

Mosh pits and Fender Benders
Ok guys, we are going to talk about a little something called mosh pits. I understand the whole mosh pits thing, I really do. And if the music requires one, go right on ahead. However, there are a few things I can't stand during live concerts that have to do with moshing and here they are. 1. Moshing when the music clearly is not moshing type of music. Seriously people, do not mosh to Hey Monday. Do not mosh to pop music or anything similar, it's just dumb and you end up pushing little girls and people who don't want to be pushed. 2. Circle pits. Just don't. Remember the good old days when people didn't skip around in a circle? Seriously, you aren't even watching the band, you're just skipping around in a circle and it looks really dumb and not even fun. It's just annoying because everyone has to clear out the best spots front and center for you to skip around. 3. Getting violent in the pit. People talk about "oh come on stop all this lame push-pits and get brutal, lay someone out, punch someone in the face..." What the hell kind of fun is that? People don't go to concerts to get in fights and get punched in the face. It's lame. Ok I just needed to get that out.
My husband got in an accident yesterday in my car. He was driving home from work and some lady pulled out right in front of him. He slammed on the brakes but skidded into the back of her. There is a little damage but my car has some pretty bouncy bumpers so its not too bad. Some connector things broke inside the bumper and the piece that holds one of the headlights on broke too and there is a scratch mark. Hopefully the insurance will take care of it. We drove by where it was and saw the skid marks on the road.
And now without further ado, here is a pic of me after a little too much rum at the Memorial Day shindig hoedown hootenanny.
Yeah.

Hunger Games and new ideas
Hey guys. So I finished the first Hunger Games book last night. Don't worry, no spoilers! I got about 85% of the way through (I know using percentages is weird but I read it on my Kindle) and I knew I wasn't going to be able to put it down until I finished. I accidentally stayed up until 2:30 am without realizing it! I absolutely loved this book. I don't quite like the writing style, there are lots of fragmented sentences that don't quite make sense, but with a storyline and character development like this, who cares? At first I wasn't sure about Katniss because she is so unlike other teen heroines, but I quickly came to love her. It is amazing that she can be so strong and tough yet have a loveable side and a vulnerability that makes the reader truly care about her story. I'm also totally in love with Gale and Peeta shhh. ;)
It had a great ending but there was something about the way it ended that I didn't quite like because it left some things hanging, so I ended up immediately buying the second one and devouring it. (I love my Kindle! How else would I be able to get a book at 2 in the morning instantly?) My eyes were flying over the words so fast that I had to force myself to slow down to make sure I was taking it all in. I didn't want to stop but I had to get some sleep. Anyway, I hope I like the second one as much as the first.
So I ended up going ahead and starting the advice column blog. I'm excited about it but I'm also not getting my hopes up about it working because every time I try to start some project I get all excited about it and it ends up not working, usually because no one cares.
I don't know, I'm kind of in a bummed out mood and I'm not sure why. But I like blogging. =) Maybe I'll go cook dinner and then settle in for another read-a-thon. Or maybe I'll take a bath with a Lush Bomb. Oooo, I love Lush bombs. Right now in my stash I have a Fizzbanger, Twilight and Butterball. Hmmm decisions...

Summer Plans
I have a few plans/happenings this summer and I thought I'd share them and see what others are doing. So this summer I basically want to get a lot of writing done. I want to work on my short stories and novels and see if I can get at least one book finished. I also plan to do a lot of reading, especially in the teen fiction genre because that is the one I write for.
I don't think I wrote about it, but my grandfather passed away in February. He had cancer and his chemo seemed to be going well, but then he had a stroke, caused by the chemo and he lost consciousness and never regained it. My grandma didn't want to have a funeral because it would make her too sad, but her friends convinced her to have a celebration of life type of thing. Her friends organized it all and got a caterer and my husband and mom made a slide show DVD of pictures and it was a big hit. I made a collage poster type of thing with pictures and I worked really hard making it look nice, with red and blue borders and little stickers of flags and stuff since he was in the Marine Corps and the Navy for a little while too. They decided before he died that he wanted his ashes to be put in this nice military cemetery so we made a date for that. All of my family members wanted to go to that rather than the little party but that makes it like a funeral. At least they will all be here. They are coming from NV, TX, AZ, San Fransisco etc. The date is in June so a bunch of my family are coming soon to go to that.
I wrote a poem in my British Lit class. The professor knew I wrote poetry and I was doing a research paper on Wordsworth and Coleridge and Romantic Period pastoral poetry so he asked me to include a poem. It ended up being about my grandpa and I showed my mom and now she wants me to read it at the funeral. She already talked to the pastor and he said that if I can't read it, (too sad) then he will read it for me. So I have to work on the poem a little more and figure out if I'll be able to read it myself or not. I'm really glad that my family is coming and I'm excited to see them but I wish they were coming for a happier reason.
Anyway, on to happier notes. There are two, maybe three concerts I want to go to this summer. Warped Tour of course, I'm going with Kenneth, Zach and Holly and it's in August. I'll probably write another post about it soon. I also want to go to Breathe Carolina and possibly the All Stars Tour simply because Alesana are on it.
I also want to take a vacation or go camping, not sure where yet, I'm thinking and discussing it with my husband and friends.
So I want to continue on my blogging and my beauty blog of course, but I want to do something else too. I talked about it a little already, but I always feel like I want to help people out or make a difference by doing something for others. I've volunteered at an animal shelter before and maybe I'll help out at a homeless shelter or something but I also feel like I was meant to help teens. I want to start out by doing an advice column type of blog. It doesn't have to be as intense as it sounds, it could just be any type of question. I feel like I'm putting a lot of personal things out there by doing this blog, but I think it will help people feel more comfortable with asking me for help if they can know a little (or a lot) about me. I've been thinking about this for awhile and going back and forth about doing it, but I've pretty much made up my mind to give it a try.
That's it for now. I'm curious as to what other people's plans for the summer are. Let me know if you want!

Update and Geocaching
So I'm starting to get into the swing of blogging and working on my stories again. The first week that school was out all I did was laze around and watch a silly tv show online and read a silly book and played silly computer games and that was about it. I think yesterday it finally sunk in that I don't have to run around freaking out about doing homework any more. At least until next semester. Yeah. lets talk about next semester for a bit and then all school talk will be out of the way.
So I signed up for the second half of a class I don't like but need, a second semester of creative writing workshop and another writing class. All the classes I take fulfill requirements but I usually am able to choose between a few options to get that requirement taken care of. The first one I talked about is one that I can't choose, I have to do it. Two of those classes are 400 levels and I think all of them will have a good amount of work, but I don't think/hope it won't be as bad as last semester. Also, I'm signing up for one more class at the other campus so that's why I only have three. The one bad thing is that one of those classes is on a Friday. Grosssss I hate that idea but it was really the only one that fit into my schedule it was either that or a class I didn't really want to take. At least it's a class I wanted. It's also going to require me to get up at 8 in the morning and I am NOT a morning person. I don't like to get up until like 10 at the earliest. But the good thing is that I only have one class a day except for Thursdays I have two, but one of those is with Kenneth! He's going to sign up for two classes and one of them will be with me. So it won't be so bad hopefully. Also, another thing that sucks is that two of the classes they haven't even said who the teacher is going to be and there are a few teachers that I really don't like one bit and was hoping to avoid but now I might not be able to. Errrr.
Anyway, tomorrow and Monday we are helping my dad and sister move out of their apartment. We recruited some friends to help and then on Monday evening we are having a shindig hoedown hootenanny. Wow spell check didn't underline any of those words. That is awesome. My mom is gonna cook some stuff and the guys are gonna grill, so it should be fun!
I am reading The Hunger Games. It is intense and I really really like it and every time I pick it up I don't want to put it down so I have been making myself not read it until before bed so that way I will have to put it down when I get too sleepy. It's giving me really weird dreams though. I think I might know where it is going but I'm not sure, there are three books and I definitely will read all three.
A couple more quick things before I go. I started geocaching again! I love it, I've found 86 caches so far! If you don't know what it is, geocaching is kind of like a treasure hunt. You use your GPS device to go to specified coordinates where there is a hidden container. Inside the container is usually little trinkets and a log which you sign and then go on the website and log that you found it. You can take a trinket if you want (they are called swag) as long as you leave something in it's place! There are geocaches all over the world! In my town there are literally hundreds. I even found a few last time I went to Las Vegas. Most of them are well hidden or disguised as something else and take awhile to find even though you have the GPS, sometimes I haven't even been able to find them at all. It's great because it combines technology with a game with the great outdoors. Some of them require hikes in remote areas and some are right in parking lots. If you are interested in playing or finding out more you can go to www.geocaching.com. So I went a few days ago to find one and we went the wrong way at first. So we had to walk all the way back up this hill along the sidewalk (these ones were urban caches) and then got into the car to drive a little closer to the right spot. Suddenly I felt a pain on top of my middle finger between my nail and knuckle. I screamed and then looked down and there was a bee, sitting right there on my finger! I opened the door and flung my hand as hard as I could to get it off and screamed "it stung me!" My mom was with me and told me to let her get the stinger out so she did and tried to calm me down. She said, "well let's go home and get you some Benadryl," and I was like, "hell no we are getting this damn cache!" So I gritted my teeth and we made the find pretty easy after that. It hurt soooo bad but the good thing was that it didn't hurt for very long. The pain started to go away after about 10 minutes or less. The only other time I've been stung by a bee was when I was about 5, I was playing in the park across the street from where we lived at the time and swatted at a bee flying by and it stung me on the back of the leg and I ran home to my mom. Both times she got the stinger out for me. Aww. I'm silly. Anyway there was some other stuff I wanted to talk about but this is getting long so I'll save it for later. Bye!

Summer!!!
Wow. Last semester was ridiculous. I was working so much that I completely didn't even have time to think about keeping up on my blog. But finally finally it is over!!! *cue birds singing and deer dancing and spiritual music* Yaaaaaaay! So basically, this blog is going to be back as a stupid blog for me to write stupid stuff like I have been doing. Also, I just started a beauty blog so all beauty related stuff will go in there from now on. Third, I am thinking of starting another blog, (I know I know) but it will be like an advice column. What do you think? I'm wondering if I should do it. I'll go to a forum and ask them and come back and let you know what they say! PS: Hooray summer my favorite time of year!

School and youtube!
OMG. I haven't had time to breathe must less post blogs but tonight I'm posting one finally. So school this semester...well quite frankly it sucks. I hate my classes, hate hate hate. Ok I take it back, I like my Shakespeare class and I liked my ASL class, notice I said liked. So every day I've been rushing home from school, scarfing down some food and then spending every freakin second doing homework, until around midnight or a little past. I just don't have enough time in the day to do it all. So I decided to drop my ASL class because by taking that out, I'll be able to come home four hours earlier on Mon/Wed. I'll take it this summer. So other than that, I managed to squeeze in filming two you tube videos! I'm so excited, I did a makeup tutorial and a haul and this weekend I'm hoping to do about two or three more.
Let's see what else, oh, we ended up not being able to take Gracie because my parents dogs didn't like her and were mean to her and scaring her!! What jerks. It sucked because she was so awesome! Anyway it turned out for the better because she is going to live with this lady and her kid who are renting rooms in my uncle's house that they still own but only live in occasionally.
So of course I haven't been able to work on my stories at all which seems weird because I'm spending all my time doing stuff that doesn't really matter, and skipping the stuff that might actually matter.
Umm what else, I bought a new mattress. It's pretty nice. Um. I painted my nails Do You Lilac It? So pretty. Breathe Carolina is doing a tour with Forever the Sickest Kids and We Are the In Crowd. Yep that's right and they aren't coming to CA. Like at all. Who the hell doesn't come to CA? So far I'm really disappointed with the Warped Tour line up, I know they aren't finished announcing bands but come on who are these people they're announcing? So far I guess I'd see The Ready Set, Enter Shikari, Of Mice and Men possibly, Simple Plan possibly, Family Force Five possibly, and Every Avenue possibly? I don't know, I'm just rambling there was a lot of stuff I wanted to say but now I can't remember any of it, but mostly it's been school and then the you tube thing. I have a Skype now. Let's Skype. Or not, whatever.
